Story & Heart Series Program
The Story & Heart Series is a BRIMI Foundation program designed to help children explore their emotions, build self-awareness, and learn the values of kindness, gratitude, and empathy through story-based learning.
Through read-aloud sessions, guided discussions, and creative activities, children are encouraged to connect with the stories they hear and reflect on their own feelings, choices, and relationships. Each session helps children understand that their heart, actions, and character shape who they are and how they show up in the world.
When children learn to recognize their feelings and care for others, they begin to share that goodness with the world around them.
Our Purpose
The Story & Heart Series supports children’s emotional growth by blending storytelling with social-emotional learning (SEL). Each session invites children to reflect on how they feel, how they treat others, and how their actions can make a positive difference.
By nurturing the heart through story, we help children build confidence, compassion, and a sense of belonging.
What Children Will Explore
Each story in the series is connected to a core character-building theme from BRIMI’s Skyy & Brimielle book collection:
Kindness – learning how small acts can make a big difference
Empathy – understanding how others feel
Resilience – finding strength when things get tough
Generosity – giving from the heart
Gratitude – appreciating what we have
Inclusion – welcoming and respecting everyone
Compassion – caring for others and ourselves
Each session includes reflection time, encouraging children to share what they learned.

Supporting Pre-Teens (Ages 11–13)
While the Story & Heart Series is designed for children ages 5–10, we recognize that ages 11–13 are a transitional stage. Pre-teens may participate as Story Helpers, supporting younger children by reading stories aloud, assisting during activities, and modeling kindness and respectful behavior. Adult facilitators lead the discussion, allowing pre-teens to build confidence and leadership in an age-appropriate way.
Each Story Helper will receive a BRIMI Certificate of Appreciation for your “act of kindness”.
