Story & Heart Series Program

A BRIMI Foundation Program

What Is the Story & Heart Series?

The Story and Heart Series was created by the BRIMI Foundation to help children explore their emotions, discover their inner beauty, and learn the values of kindness, gratitude, and empathy through story-based learning.

Through read-aloud sessions, reflective discussions, and creative activities, children are invited to see themselves in the stories they hear and to understand that who they are inside… their heart, kindness, and courage is what makes them truly beautiful.

When children see the beauty within themselves, they begin to share it with the world around them.

Our Purpose

The Story and Heart Series helps children develop emotional awareness, self-confidence, and compassion by connecting powerful storytelling with social-emotional learning (SEL).

Each session encourages children to reflect on how they feel, how they treat others, and how they can make a positive difference. By nurturing the heart through story, we teach that every child’s voice matters , and every act of kindness helps the world grow brighter.

What Children Will Learn

Every book and discussion in the series connects to a core inner beauty theme from BRIMI’s Skyy & Brimielle book collection:

  • Kindness – how small acts can make a big difference

  • Empathy – understanding how others feel

  • Resilience – finding strength when things get tough

  • Generosity – giving from the heart

  • Gratitude – appreciating what we have

  • Inclusivity – welcoming and respecting everyone

  • Compassion – caring deeply for others and ourselves

Each story ends with reflection time, encouraging children to share what they learned, draw their thoughts, or write in their personal journals.

Program Format

  • Ages: 5–10 (adaptable for small or large groups)

  • Length: 45–60 minutes per session

  • Facilitators: BRIMI Foundation team members or trained volunteers

  • Setting: Schools, libraries, churches, group homes or community events

Each session includes story time, a guided reflection or activity, and a kindness-focused takeaway that encourages children to continue learning at home.

Our Approach

BRIMI’s story-based programs are rooted in emotional growth and reflection. We use literature as a bridge between imagination and real-life understanding, helping children see that every story teaches something about who they are and who they can become.

When stories touch the heart, they shape the mind, and that’s where true learning begins.
