Monthly Journal Prompt

“My Feelings Today”

Sometimes our feelings feel too big to say out loud—but writing them down can help!

Take a deep breath. Then write or draw your answer to this:

“How am I feeling today? What might be making me feel this way?”

You can feel more than one thing at once. You might feel happy and nervous. Or excited and unsure. That’s totally okay.

Tip: Use colors to draw your feelings if words are hard to find.

Kind Word of the Month: “Peaceful”

Peaceful means feeling calm and safe—like when you're wrapped in a cozy blanket, reading a good book, or sitting outside listening to music.

This month, find moments that help your mind feel peaceful. Try one of these:

Sitting quietly for a minute

  • Taking three deep breaths

  • Coloring or drawing how your heart feels

  • Listening to music you love

Peace starts inside—and grows the more we practice it.

Your mind is so important, and taking care of it is just like brushing your teeth or eating healthy food. Here are three “brain and heart” habits you can try this month:

  • Talk it out – Share how you feel with someone who loves you

  • Get rest – Sleep helps your brain reset and feel better

  • Do what you love – Play, draw, dance, or write to lift your mood

When you take care of your mind, you grow stronger inside. And remember—asking for help is something smart kids do.
